Introduction |
Literature students encounter some
of the most significant and exciting writing in the English language - and, in the
process, develop their imaginations as well as their intellectual and analytical
skills. Department of English offers BS 4-year Program and MA English Language &
Literature Program and is planning to start MPhil and PhD programs in the near future.
When you study English, you learn how to interpret texts and, just as important,
how different kinds of interpretation may be done, and why. You learn not only to
understand individual texts, but also to enter different cultures and world-views
through those texts.
In view of the great demand for a postgraduate program, the Department of English
Language and Literature was established in 1987. For the past 21 years, the department has been showing excellent results. English Department was the first department
of the University of Sargodha to introduce evening classes at postgraduate level
in December 2002. |
